This family recipe for quiche is extremely simple to follow and easy to make!
Ingredients- pre-made pie crust
- 6-7 eggs
- substitution: 12-14 egg whites
- 2 cups various grated cheeses
- substitute lower fat, if you prefer
- 3/4 c milk
- lowfat or skim
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of nutmeg
- 2 cups frozen spinach (microwaved & drained slightly)
- substitution: 2 cups cooked broccoli, green beans, collard greens, etc.
- 1/8-1/4 cup cooked finely diced ham
- substitution: cooked bacon, sausage, Canadian bacon, ground beef, etc.
- 1/2 tsp. paprika (to sprinkle on top)
- Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Place all eggs in a medium-sized bowl and fluff with a fork.
- Add ingredients 3 through 11 and mix thoroughly.
- Pour into a pie dish in which you've already spread out the pre-made pie crust.
- Sprinkle some paprika on top.
- Place in oven and cook 45-50 minutes until center is done.
Cool a bit and enjoy. Great served hot or cold!
