Grilled shrimp and scallops with rice and all the extras. It was about $35 and it was great!
I had Japanese at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai (it was recommended) when on holiday with the family.
The bill came up to $2000-ish (not chinese rmb) for a party of 5.
My ikura don (fish roe rice bowl) was worth almost $90.
A bit expensive, but DELICIOUS. Would do it again in a heartbeat since these kind of lavish dinners only happen once a while when my parents are in the mood for fine dining.
Insane prices, but I wouldn't deny the food was excellent and so was the entire dining experience.
A really stupid iHop that charged like, 10 dollars for really gross pancakes.
@crushediamonds@xanga - a 'bit' expensive is an understatement..ISN'T IT? LOL
some dish that was like 50..and ew , no it was NOT.
20$ at a Japanese grill. XD Teriyaki chicken. lol
Recently I bought a $10.00 huge smoothie... I don't know what the hell I was thinking buying a $10.00 smoothie, but it was worth it :)
Probably a garlic chicken alfredo pasta dish at Olive Garden. Around 18 dollars.
But definitely worth it. Delicious, and big enough to take some home for lunch the next day.
Anytime I eat in New York City I end up spending a ridiculous amount of money. Such good food, but always so expensive.
$1500 HKD on a buffet. it was like...$187 USD.
food was okay. nothing too great. but they had little dreyers ice creams. :D
Lawry's steak. About $100 a plate. SO WORTH IT!!!! Went there twice already and always come back happy.
Kobe beef. Mmmm.
Lobster in Puerto nuevo, mexico, about $30dlls per person
yummi!
@immaairheadxl@xanga - Haha, well only "a bit" for the parents paying for it, but insanely MUCH for me. : )
Probably a scallop dish that I ate on my honeymoon at Wolfgang Puck's (the upper restaurant). The meal was free because we knew someone there, but ordinarily it would have been probably a couple hundred for us both to eat and drink there. We tipped really well. :P
i've never ordered any expensive dishes (food) before. its just food. im not a "picky" eater besides its all going to turn into poo anyways so whats the point...waste of money.
There's this place in New York where you can get a special dessert, all of the ingredients are flown in from different countries. Its decorated with gold. The crystal chalice is from like some country its very special, also with a type of caviar, I will have it for my birthday. A gift from my mother. It's $1000.
Other than that I had lobster yesterday. Masa starts at like $400 per person.
I went to a Japanese restaurant in Honolulu... I shared appetizer of raw oysters with my friend, had tofu-seaweed miso soup, and a nigiri sushi plate to myself. My main entree was 39 USD alone and among the four of us I think the bill exceeded 250 USD. (Not too bad, this is just the most recent time I can think of)
Totally worth it though. Mm, the raw fish and raw oysters were fresh and superb.
try eating at charlie trotters. its a 5 star restaurant in chicago, 400 dollars. if i wanted wine i couldve added at least another 200 to that.
its an 8 course meal, of the most delicious exotic foods youll ever have. definitely worth it.
$120 for fondue for 2 people ...
probably like $10/$15 on steak.
It was a 24-ounce porterhouse at Shula's Steakhouse in Baltimore. I don't remember how much it cost; it was in 1998. And yes, it was worth it.
I wish I had had the nerve to try their 48-ounce porterhouse.
I went to the melting pot, and had three different fondues with my boyfriend. So dang expensive, but it was worth it x3
OMG, Brittany. Can I borrow your mom?
The most expensive dinner I ever got from either of my parents for my birthday was Taco Bell. :(
I have never really had a lot of expensive food, but I want to go try the tasting menu at Le Bernardin in NYC or The French Laundry in Yountville, CA. Both super, super expensive.Â
Someday...
I don't remember the most I've ever spent on a specific dish, but I recall the most expensive dinner I've ever had was at a Japanese restaurant, very high class, where the bill came up to $500-600 for a party of 6. The food was definitely worth it though. For most ripped off would probably be $100 spent for a party of four at a Dim Sum restaurant in Hawaii. The food was simply horrendous.
Ha! I was in England and my parents let me order some room service while they went out for a business dinner (this was when I wouldn't have had any fun, etc)... so I ordered the BEST Dover Sole (it was HUGE) along with side dishes of sauteed spinach, mushrooms & broccoli... Yea, the bill was JACKED high! Plus you have to pretty much double it to get America dollars! So yea, my dinner was like 400 bucks! ha ha - just for that!
The other night my sister and I went out to sushi and we eat ate $100 worth! So worth it though it was delicious!
