This post has been delayed for a month or two and, unfortunately, we did not take any pictures, but the Xanga team had a social hour that involved vodka jello shots and rummy bears--as IReallyLikeFood Market Intern lovingly coined it.
Our jello shots were orange and strawberry flavored (I think), which were easy to make. We poured in jello mix with hot water and cheap Smirnoff vodka to mix and, if I remember correctly, cold water afterward. We (The Editor and Market Intern, I helped with the gummies only) then poured them into mini containers to freeze for two nights (not necessary but so we could do the gummies the next day).
For rum gummy bears, we poured Brazilian rum--that was kept in the freezer since Christmas (liquor doesn't go bad right? And if so, then it wouldn't go bad in the freezer right?)--into a mug and a bowl filled with Haribo Gold Gummi Bears. Again, this was done the night before.
When the day came for the Xanga Team social hour, the jello shots were solidified and the gummy bears soaked up all the rum (the ones at the bottom were a lot stronger than the ones on top).
So when the social hour finally ensued, the IReallyLikeFood editor got tipsy from one-two jello shot and a couple of gummy bears--isn't she the cutest thing?

I'm loving this post....we're having a party Thursday with jell-o shots & NOW we'll be having rum bears too...I'd rec this, but don't one anyone thinking I have a drinking problem :)

omg! rummy bears! i have never thought of this. I am all too familiar with jello shots. lol It's hard to find the time (and room in the fridge) to make them so I order them by the dozen from a local daiquiri place for random get togethers. But rummy bears?! REALLY?! I have got to try these! lol
You can slip gummy bears in semi-solid jello and let it completely solidify, too!!

I've tried jello shots once. I didn't like it. Maybe my frnd didnt' make them well.
They are amazing. If you use blue sourpuss to make blue-raspberry jello-brand jello, it tastes absolutely delish. Or lemon citrus vodka to make lemon or cherry jello. MMM I think I'm going to make some jello shots now. :)

OMG! I love jello shots, but I've never heard of rummy bears! MY hubby's birthday bash is coming up and I think I may need to try this. Awesome!
