Mmmm, I love snails. I get them when I go to Chinatown (NYC). I go to Chatham Restaurant (formerly Hop Shing). It's so good the way they prepare it there. Been eating them since childhood. I've never tried them any other way.
eat it.
Eat! I think they're usually cooked with some sort of black bean sauce when I eat them...the Chinese way anyway.
SMITE!
unless someone can convince me that the texture isn't slimy.
smite because they are WAY (WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY) too salty.
EAT!
smite (just like the cheese puffs lol ;)
EAT IT.
@ColdBeverage87@xanga - Texture is more like cooked clams. Well, I've only had sea snails, but I'm assuming it's going to be similar.
The picture just killed all desire...
How is this stuff prepared, anyone?
I will try anything once!
Ooh, prepared correctly, these are YUMMY!!
EAT!^^
LOVE IT.
SMITE IT and you should really describe what's in it, I know it's not just the snail
Smite it :(
I smite you, snails!
SMITE!
eat it. its good.
Eat it. It's delicious and quite fun to pick them out of their shell.
@crystal_air@xanga - The way it's prepared in Chinese restaurants is by boiling it and then pan cook it with some black bean sauce, which is pretty much the same as clams.
@Mr_Jin@xanga - Dang, don't like the texture of cooked clams either. I love trying all kinds of different foods and am pretty brave to try new things but I also have strong gag reflexes and there are just some textures I can't handle.
@laytexduckie@xanga - hmm, that doesn't sound so bad I guess. How does one eat these? Shell and all, or just the insides?
culinary ecstasy.
I love snails, I think the idea of it just gives people a bad vibe, much like jellied eel. although, it's hard to come by good escargot here in las vegas. the best place i've had it was L'Escargot Montorguiel when I took a holiday in Paris. But then again, I do have a hm, unique taste in food, I don't like mundane foods, I love going to a new place and trying something local and different. I say for the people that haven't tried it, to just try it. you might surprise yourself.
