Although I'm very conscious about how much foods cost given I don't make a lot of money, there are certain exceptions to budgetary concerns. Namely bubble tea. Maybe this is the sign of addiction, but I find it pretty darn hard to resist the tea-and-tapioca combination. Boba/bubble tea can get pretty pricey, too. Still, I find myself paying whatever they ask me. Just give me a taste, man! I'm starting the get the shakes!
If you're a junkie like me, you're also probably thinking about where and when you can score your next dose of bubble tea. Since coming to work in NYC, I've been looking for recommendations and fast ways of finding out where bubble tea is sold. I actually found out that there are Websites devoting to tracking locations of tea houses and other establishments that make this most sacred of drinks.
They include
Bobafind.com, which I consulted recently to try to track down some tasty tapioca. So far, results are mixed at best. The one near my house is now under new management, so it's no longer called what BobaFind says it is. Meanwhile, I went searching blindly for a shop in New York only to find it was a Macy's and that the shop inside the Macy's was coming soon. Whoops. I hope you have better luck with your searches.
How do you find about bubble tea locations?

Word of mouth usually for me. I should try that site one day
There's a bubble tea place ten minutes away from my house that is ALSO by the mall & pier! It's pretty great =D
i actually dont have to go too far to find bubbletea, there're everywhere ^___^
If you're in NYC, just go into Chinatown. They have tons of places they serve bubble tea especially in the bakeries.
California has a lot more than NY, I would say. There's Quickly, Tapioca Express, Lollicup, AU, Cha, Ten Ren, and so much more. When one of my friends rave about it, I usually go and try it.
My favorite is still Quickly. Though it's made from powder, the boba milk tea is only a dollar and I can always get the mini boba for free.
In my city there they are EVERYWHERE. My favorite is Tapioca Express, they have the best flavor and a nice pearl to milk tea ratio. :D
I love boba, but only the normal milk tea kind (not all the flavored ones). You could always make it at home if you want to save money, my mom always did that. Plus, that way you can choose your own tapioca to tea to ice ratio and how sweet you want it.
i'm a junkie too. i'm trying so hard not to buy some today...but i might not make it! AH!
mmm.... bubble tea! They just happen to pop up!
Lol they're everywhere. I go to too many cities with huge asian populations.
There's two quicklys within blocks of each other @ Flushing. They make some killer bubble tea.
chinatown :)
mmm bubble tea... I live in Pittsburgh and there aren't many places that serve good bubble tea. The only place whose tea I like also happens to have really slow service.. sigh, can't win :(
first off)

3rd) i'm asian and my friends are asian
i'm pretty damn sure each of us know a diff. place
I LOVE BUBBLE TEA.
i find out from other asian people... i know of two really good places so far
woah. Didn't know about that site. o_o
If you're in queens, there are a lot of bubble tea places in Flushing. If you're in Brooklyn, uh, there's a Ten Rens near the 8th Ave. N subway stop. There are several places in China Town too. meh, I feel like there's an abundance of bubble tea in New York in comparison to other places.for me they're every where all within a 5-10min drive radius
We just have two bubble tea places here, and they are both 1-2 years old. We are way behind!
friends & family. my parents love visiting tea gardens and they'er always like (to me and my younger brother) "you have to try this place!" i love my parents. good god, once i was introduced to jasmine milk tea with strawberry boba though, i'm never looking back. <3333
but yeah, live in socal, in a predominantly asian community, with asian friends & family.... it's like a given that we all share a passion in boba. <3
it's everywhere here.
There's a bubble tea chain brand in my area, so I know I can go to any one of their stores and get quality bubble tea :)
Living in Japan definitely makes it easy to find bubble tea ;)
But it just fuels my addiction
i just walk and then i'll see a bubble tea stall. bubble tea stalls seems to be everywhere in singapore lol
there aren't many in melbourne but i happen to work in one :)
I know there's one in a few malls where I live. And at my college, there aren't any, really, but once every semester one of my clubs holds a bubble tea fundraiser. I usually get at least 2 free ones.
