Olive Garden Salad and Breadsticks vs. Macaroni Grill Focaccia and Olive Oil
Italian chain restaurants glut you with food overkill: humongous portions, bloated desserts, and a parade of courses. The best part, though, is the 'free' stuff you get at the beginning of the meal.
Which do you like better - Olive Garden's bottomless salad and bread sticks...
or the warm focaccia and olive oil with rosemary at Macaroni Grill?

Olive Garden Salad and Breadsticks!
Olive Garden's breadsticks and salad!!
They're both delicious, but the bread is pretty much where the deliciousness ends at Macaroni Grill. I don't like that place.
For more authentic Italian, I prefer Andiamo or Buca di Beppo.
I like both. Free endless food is great!
Give me the salad and breadsticks any day of the week.
HAHA! restaurants loaded with fatty menu items have no idea how to make a salad. i know i can't get a good salad at a restaurant when they describe their salads as being composed of "iceberg lettuce" with pride.
Olive Garden. Macaroni Grill kinda sucks. Olive Garden has the best breadsticks EVAR. Love them with marinara!
ick that mac grill bread is AWFUL
both look good
Neither, Red Lobster cheese garlic bread is the BEST!
Olive Garden
Olive garden. That stuff is goooood.
olive garden
salad and bread ^^
@kimtendo@xanga - agreed.
I'll take red lobster over either of those any day.
@zinda@xanga - what's wrong with iceberg lettuce? The name Iceberg refers to the crisp, cold, clean characteristics of the leaves.
sorry, iceberg lettuce just seems tasteless to me. i like darker greens like spinach or romaine better. from my own experience, salads based mainly on iceberg lettuce are pretty cheap and have little else in them. lettuce, two cherry tomatoes, and cheddar cheese is not a salad.
geeez this is hard... macaroni grill's focaccia is much better tasting than olive garden's breadsticks... but a nice salad with italian dressing tastes so good....
I'll scarf down both. But I prefer more authentic
I haven't been to Olive Garden in like 10 years..
Id choose the second one though.
OK THANK U! i just went to mac grill for the first time! and mac grill takes it. the bread is much better, not as oily & buttery & more crispy on the outside. but i'd go to olive garden if i wanted to save money on salad. their salads are both about the same.
also it seems mac grill salts their food way too much to get you to drink more.
olive garden all the way :)
I love Olive Garden's salad, and the breadsticks! Haven't been there in too long, that is my absolute favorite restaurant. I'm hungry now.
=o/ More Macaroni Grill Focaccia for me!
breadsticks. are. the best.
