Let's face it, Starbucks food is really only there in the case of an emergency. I've never answered the question "I'm hungry, where should we go?" with "Starbucks!" mostly because I find their food heavy, dense, and way overpriced. At best, it's the sidekick to a drink, making a Starbucks pit stop more of a snack run than a coffee stop.
However, Starbucks implemented a 90% new food menu last week which will be free of high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and dyes to answer the qualms of the health-conscious (and the hungry) who visit the store.
Replacing some old favorites will be banana walnut bread, oatmeal cookies, organic blueberry bars, and berry coffee cakes. The selection varies from store to store and the menu will still include some more classically indulgent items like double chocolate chip cookies.
Did you like the old Starbucks food menu? Are there any items you will miss? Will you give the new food a try?

all those old starbucks foods gave me tumy aches after eating them. they were so dense! and full of sugar!
@ordinary_gir1@xanga - agreed with the density.
but I would totally give the blueberry bars a try. I love blueberries!
ive never eaten starbucks crap.
Oh well, I never go to Starbucks for food. Just drinks.
i usually take green tea and a piece of cheesecake... sometimes a cappuccino... i think everything is smaller in france.
Sure I'll just take out a second $50 bill to buy a cookie that probably tastes like evil to go along with my coffee.
nice .... for people that actually get food at starbucks. just a regular coffee for me please
I'm always willing to try new foods, even at Starbucks. They have real fruit protein drinks available now, too. (Not a big fan of those...chai breve over ice over here!) As long as they don't cut out the winter holiday offering of cranberry bliss, I won't be sad over the changes. Currently, we've been noshing on their marshmellow dream squares: just enough sweet, very light.
I don't usually go to Starbucks, not even for coffee. I just go there to loiter. *bad kid* lol

I like their sandwiches. I usually don't eat their other stuff.
yaay starbucks
I love the coffee, hate the food. If I am going for a muffin fix, I would much rather visit a bakery.I've only ever eaten food from there once, I don't even remember what it was.
Thank GOODNESS! I love Starbucks and it's about time they got some healthy food. Hopefully they're gonna make it edible this time, too...
(BTW I'm new to this site and it's great!
)
the rhubarb crumble
love the apple bran muffin soooo much!
honestly i've been to starbucks only a couple of times. not a coffee fan but the vanilla cappuccino is pretty good... and ohh the list of food on the post is making me hungry.
As long as the blueberry coffee cake is still there I dont care.
free of high-fructose corn syrup?? ooo im defiantly in! just because i can be picky but put a carmel or vanilla iced coffee in front of my face from there.... mmmmm i wouldnt even care.
I don't go to Starbucks. There is a much better option here in Louisville -- Heine Brothers Coffee. From what I understand, the bakery that does their bagels, muffins, scones, etc., has never put any of that stuff in their products.
Good for them, that's at least a step in the right direction...now...where's the vegan baked goods??
Seriously.
I love the fact that they have soymilk for their coffee, but vegan goods would just seal the deal for me :)
I don't know what new food they have, but I do like their sandwiches and parfaits, but I'd definitely check it out and try the new stuff.
