  • Shabu Shabu AKA Hot Pot

During the winter, my family likes to hot pot, which is essentially putting in raw food into a pot of boiling water; the foods used should cook fast, like thinly slice beef, fish balls, tofu, and veggies. It's an activity that can warm you up and fill you up like a real meal.

I particularly like hot pot because you don't have to really cook, you just put it into a pot and wait for it cook. You can buy everything from the mart, and use it as it is, unless you have to cut some of the larger items of food like vegetables.

There are variations of the kinds of foods you can put into hot pot and the kinds of sauces, to either use as a soup base or to marinate the food after it's cooked, too. I just use soy sauce, but there's also a Chinese barbecue type of sauce that I used to enjoy (sorry I can't recall the name or the brand).

Would you hot pot? What would you put in hot pot?
