  • It Started With A Kiss, Taiwanese Cuisine

My apologies ahead of time if this post does not interest anyone except Taiwanese drama lovers. It started with a kiss (1 and 2), ISWAK, is an extremely popular Taiwanese drama about a naive and good-hearted girl who devotes herself to liking a seemingly cold-hearted genius, originally based off a Japanese manga.

As most dramas are...it's dramatic (redundant I know), but though their acting and the plots are pretty decent, what always catches my eye is the food they eat. I don't know why but in almost every scene there's a huge banquet of food. They have had huge plates of fish, cakes, and any food imaginable. I get so hungry when I watch this series; it's ridiculous.

Then, my friend, who's Taiwanese, has been to Taiwan says that it's true, they lay out all these dishes out for meals and she just keeps eating and eating. She only gained 1-2 pounds after a month of eating all that food. She says that it's because it must be the way they cook the food or what they cook. It boggles my mind.
