People were commenting on how in my previous post,
College Food Survival Guide--Top Ten Snacks, all the snacks are pretty unhealthy - though admittedly addicting. Hence, this post came about. I have to admit I don't really munch on a lot of these except number 1 and the occasional healthy snack here and there (or when I'm in a feisty need-to-eat-healthy-crap-to-unclog-my-arteries mood). But my friends, who are much healthier than I am, eat tons of healthy stuff. So to reiterate myself, if you need a booster when dorming or even just at work or at home, these snacks are feasible to buy and to eat as well as to stay not unhealthy.
I'm not a big yogurt fan (was a big froyo fan though), but my friends love eating plain yogurt with fruits and granola. It was something healthy to savor and enjoy during the wee hours of the morn. (Taken from the previous post.)
Sweetened soy milk (though healthier unsweetened...but then bland) is better than carbonated drinks. Water, green tea, and real juices, like orange and apple, are also great to refresh yourself with.
Cereal again is another cheap and healthy way of eating, but it really depends on the cereal brand, eating cheerios > cocoa puffs.
My room mate loves to buy Saltine crackers, so I tag along and buy them too. I prefer the salted kind, but she likes the unsalted kind; she says toma-toe, I say peppe-roni. Crackers can also be eaten with dip and can fill you up if you eat a good amount of them.
Pretzels are the best substitute for chips; they are less flavorful, but are quite fun to nibble on.
Rice cakes (the unflavored ones) are my best friend's favorite snack to inhale, especially if she's had a little bit to drink... For this reason, this snack is good to have lying around when you're having little parties because it won't add a lot of calories and they're pretty healthy compared to other dry snacks.
Organic peanut butter. I think peanut butter is healthy in small doses, but knowing that it's organic must make it healthier right? Although, I never tried it, other people on my floor have and said it tastes pretty yummy.
Fruits are an obvious healthy choice, natural and sweet. My favorites are watermelon - albeit not easy to exactly eat in college, oranges, plums, grapes, and bananas.
Celery, baby carrots, plum tomatoes, anything veggie-like and able to be held between your fingers or held in the palm of your hands are easy to eat on-the-go and are always beneficial. I always enjoy the crunching sounds made from eating celery and carrots...it's sexy - rather...mesmerizing?
Raisins, dried up grapes, suggests that grapes are all-purpose; after all, wine does exist too! Easy to slip in your mouth as a professor drones on and on about Shakespeare or on how diamonds eventually return to their graphite form depending on pressure and temperature (diamonds aren't forever!) or on how the deviation of so and so is this or on how the Skinner box could have been seen as unethical.
Hummus has gotten me through a lot of tough times. There were times where I was craving something to munch on and dipped cracker after cracker (chip after chip) into hummus. It's best in the early morning when everyone is asleep and you're still cramming because you were stupid enough to study last minute; it's a good snack to take a break with.
There's lots of snacks that I didn't mention, like Special K bars and vegetable chips, because there's just to many. So what snacks did you like or would like to eat from this list? And what healthy snacks do you enjoy that wasn't found on this list?

mmmm :D
i must add to my list of foods to eat!
I stick to fruits, Goldfish crackers, and yogurt. =)
I eat a lot of those stuffs. It's great to eat healthy and lead a healthy life.
Hummus is delicious! I couldn't believe it when people were telling me it was considered a healthy dipping/spread. Soooo good.
Plain yogurt with fruit and granola was one of my absolute favorite snacks in college.
Pretzels aren't unflavorful. They make a lot of flavored pretzels!

The honey wheat sticks are my favorite.
Goldfish... love it too much, lol. Also reduced fat Pringles or fruit (as you mentioned.) I also tend to put Special K bars in my purse for those on the go food hits... works wonders.
Kashi Go Lean! Crunch cereal and protein/fiber bars are great healthy, all natural snacks for in between classes. Well, anything Kashi is great... XD Not that I'm in college yet... but just one more year so my opinion should count for something! lol
Veggies and salsa...I prefer salsa to ranch, tasty and lower cals. I used to throw pretzels and baby carrots in a ziplock and into my purse. Apples! I just throw one in my purse, or if I have time I slice it and put in a baggie. Low-fat yogurt...I like vanilla and add berries or granola or other fruit. Kashi bars! Rice cakes go with everything, sprinkle with cinnamon it's sweet, or sprinkle cayenne pepper it's spicy, you can dip it or eat it plain. Thats all i have for now...I'm too tired.
Beef Jerky, trail mix, and espresso got me through college :P
low-cal popcorn, organic salsa w/baked chips, low-fat yogurt, string cheese, veggies & veggie dip, veggies & hummus, guacamole w/baked chips...mmm
I also like unsalted nuts, trail mix and unsalted tortilla chips with fresh salsa.
Haha wow so you actually did make the post, crap now im craving hummus.

I love hummus.
Almond butter, Carr's water crackers, and avocado with lime & salt are good too.
I need to eat fruit every day. Currently, I like to eat gala apples with peanut butter, or just plain apples, for the convenience of it all. I love watermelon, as you said, but it's just not that simple to have in university.
I also like granola bars as a snack - so unhealthy, i know, but it's there to fill me for a while in between classes. And the grains in it have fiber.
I can't stand organic peanut butter. So nasty.
I loooove dried fruit, though. Craisins, especially.
Oh, and I like Sunchips.
wow i like everything-except hummusss.. ickyyy lol
Organic food isn't much healthier than normal peanut butter. You just have to pay double for something that goes bad quicker, which is no help in college.
rawr stupid peanut butter makes me break out... so even though it's pretty healthy I don't eat it anymore
@ink_addiction@xanga - I keep my promises! Except don't think I even made a promise...anyways, this post is mainly for you since you were first to notice how unhealthy my former list was.
well the_artificial_human@xanga too if she ever sees this post.
I like orangic peanut butter but I've never tried hummus. I'm really not sure if I've even heard of it before.
Gee, what a completely appropriate blog title. That's not rude and offensive at all.
yum to #10 and 3.
