Ze French Food
I am having a potluck kind of thing for French class, and we are supposed to bring French food. People opted to bring French cheese like Brie or bring some croissants and baguettes but I want to go the distance and actually MAKE something. Problem is, I've never really made French food before.
I bake a lot, and I rarely cook dishes. So I want to do something I could use my "baking skills" with. I got an idea from a website about making Brie Tartlettes but I'm kinda hesitant about that because I heard Brie is a "you-like-it-or-you-dont" kind of cheese.
I've always wanted to try French pastry, so do you guys have any ideas for something I could bring for about, oh say, 30 people? Something easy to make?
And are there any specific fruits that are good to eat with Brie? If so, I might just make TWO dishes for class. :)

Bouillabaisse? I don't know how easy/hard that is to make, though. But it's very French.
How about crepes? Those aren't that difficult. You can even throw some Nutella in them; Europeans LOVE Nutella (but, really, who doesn't?).
I've always hated brie, so I couldn't tell you what tastes good with it.
cheese + fruits = new good tatse ~
Crepes are easy and can be filled with anything! I'm fond of cream cheese and strawberries, personally. Alternately, here's a very good link:
