When you're dorming away--or dormed away--from home then you can understand how disgusting dining hall food can eventually get. You miss having to walk only a few steps from your room to the kitchen when the aroma of brownies clombers you over the head. You miss just being able to pick right off the hot plate, knowing that without a doubt you'd like it; you miss food that you never thought you would miss, like onions or scallions--my personal dislikes that have somehow become magically delicious.
But college life isn't a living hell--though some people may beg to differ-- since there are dry packaged snacks that can help get a college student through the long book-hitting/I-have-the-damn-munchies/if-I-don't-eat-anything-I'm-going-to-be-completely-smashed night.
Pop Tarts are all you need for that extra rush of sugar. Hide it between the pages of your books and it's a pleasant surprise when you reach the end.
Image SourceCanned soda, Gatorade, Vitamin water, and plain bottled water are bought in large packages for consumption to "quench your thirst".

Image SourceGranola bars are nifty because, like pop tarts, you can take them on the go and get an extra boost of energy between classes, napping, and studying.
6.
Image SourcePocky; I bow down to these bread sticks coated in various flavors like chocolate and coffee.
5.
Image SourceRice Crispy Treats are sweet but chewy with marshmallow goodness, easy to hold as you frolic through your dorm.
4.
Image SourceCereal is really easy to eat, either by itself or with milk. With milk, most people can eat it and accept it as a meal.
3. (Due to popular demand)
Image SourceEasy Mac (mac and cheese) is the snack that most of my college friends have, within good reason. It's easy, it's cheesy...it's easy mac!
2.
Image SourceChips are a must must must snack in college. My personal favorite is Flat Earth chips, they're healthier than regular chips, but still have the rich chip taste.

Image SourceFinally, Instant Ramen Noodle, the reigning MSG king! Instant ramen is easy to make and happens to be, well, instant! Compared to the other foods listed, this one can fulfill the appetite since it's less of a snack and more of a meal.
So how do you survive in college or how did you survive in college? Were any of these snacks your personal saviors?

mmmmmmm
good list! =P
i start university in september/october
i'll have to see what i survive on xD
Haha...I'm mildly amused that I have most of these sitting within arm's reach of me now. No more Ramen for me though --I ate so much of it freshman year that I'm sick of it. Pocky is amazing though.
Ah, ramen. So unhealthy but so good.
I got two full boxes of kimchi flavoured ramen from my mom for christmas. I ate them all, obviously, but now I can't eat them anymore. I'm kimchi'd out.
I ate a lot of those 'salad in a bag's, because it was quick and tasty, and healthy enough.
LOL. freshman fifteen damnit
i'm not even in college, and i'm addicted to korean ramen. nongshim <3
lol one bowl of ramen is practically your day's worth of sodium.
it's got freshman fifteen written all over it
haha
Cereal is THE college food. After our freshman year concluded, my high school best friend and I concluded we ate more cereal than anything in our first year of college. There's healthy varieties, it's cheap, it's filling, and it easy.
These are all delicious, but soooo unhealthy. I'm fine with snacking on diet pepsi and the occasional bag of kettle corn (which is surprisingly not that bad for you).
Definitely has freshman fifteen written all over it. I haven't touched ramen in years since it's practically what I used to live on. I'm so sick of it now.
I wouldn't mind seeing a list of healthy (and delicious) snacks/meals for people trying to watch their weight.
LOL I LOVE NONG SHIM INSTANT NOODLES <3
you're right, these foods are a must :)
My family and friends call instant noodle bowls "sodium bowls". Mmmm, nothing like pickling your tongue to remind you you're dirt poor and loving it.
SHIN RAMEN.
ramen ftw!
man, i LOVE kettle corn but i'm the only one out of my friends that likes it. it's too "salty," apparently.
i remember i had a year supply of ramen noodles but i only came up with 7 different ways to prepare it.
i love pocky, froyo and bowl noodle especially the korean kind cause its spicy and i like spicy.
1. Ramen

Im starting college this fall...maybe I will make a post a year into college of healthy snacks to get you through college lol. But cool list, it does list fast, cheap snacks.
I don't know how I survived.
To anyone going to college: GET A FRIDGE.
I just moved into an apartment, which means no more dorm food (happy and sad emotions at the same time). Now I have to cook more (yay) which means I can be healthy or eat ramen/fast food and be unhealthy. But ramen and hot cheetos puffs ... and trail mix bars are the way to go (:
coke ...I like it ...
Arizona tea.
i love instant noodles.
Yikes.
easy mac!
i'm not in college yet but YUM
