some of those aren't bad but the others are so misleadingg
Toothpaste.
The Wendy's, KFC, and Subway aren't too bad.
Arby's, McD's, and BK are awfully misleading.
Well it IS fast food, meaning they can't make it all pretty like the ads. =P
wasn't this just on healthkicker or something? Most fast food is not going to resemble their ads b/c they don't have food artists prepping the food to be photographed. Moreover, you aren't spending any money on presentation at a fast food place.
Again, I've never seen any fastfood that looks as bad as what you've posted.
Every single thing food related that is advertised is falsely advertised.
that's why i don't watch fast food ads. i'm only setting myself up for disappointment.
Pretty much everything. I work at Chili's and see the food their firsthand. Then I see the commercial on television, or look at the pictures in the menu......totally misleading.
im pretty sure there's more !
& the reason why the the ads are way better than reality is
a) obviously to attract customers
b) they need the "perfect" whatever
reality:
a) those people make it sloppy :)
but ay, s'all good... >:3
Presentation isn't just about how the company's present the picture, its also about how they represent the food in the commercials. There was an Australian show called "The Chaser's War on Everything", that did Ad Road Tests where they took commercials that gave an impression in the commercial that defied common sense, and went around to those business's and tried to react the commercials. It was quite amusing.
do you really expect to get whats in the ad?
funny how the real thing looks like a wrinkled old face.
need some food stylin and airbrushing.
Just like in the ads.
Ads are allowed to be misleading to an extent - or they wouldn't be ads right?
How dissatisfied I am with the real thing would probably have to be based on how hungry I was at the time!
lol..
wut a disappointment!! =\\\\
Except the Nachos Bell Grande they look surprisingly ok in the real photos to me. I've heard how food is created for ads. It's probably not even real food in the pictures. They make models. I read somewhere once that they use glue instead of milk in cereal commercials cause it looks richer and creamier on camera than milk can look.
I watched something on Food Network once about the people that are hired to make food look good for commercials and other forms of ads. I found it very interesting that some of the food was fake. Like Ice Cream, they mold it out of some inedible substance and attempt to make it look like the ice cream. Most of the time they do a wonderful job because it always looks so good, and so much better than whey I try to scoop it out of the container.
Depending on the pasta you order, it sometimes looks different on your plate at Olive Garden. I think Fast Food mainly takes the cake, though, when it comes to false advertising... Those Taco Bell nachos look pretty God-awful...
They are there just to make money. End of story.
hahahahahaha xD I love this blog.
They always take their time to make it look nice for the ads.
Oh my goodness this made me laugh really hard. That chicken club was the worst! But honestly, it looks like someone sat on the bags before they pulled the sandwiches out because they were a little extreme. I ate at Arby's for years, then worked there, and still eat it, and have never to this day seen a beef and cheddar looking as pathetic as that one, lol!
Ads are made to look good. My dad works in the ad industry so I know something about it. It's the lighting, colors, and the angles that matter the most in achieving that enticing, "tantalize-your-taste-buds" look. A lot of the times, ad makers cut corners in creating ads. My dad once had to do an ad for spring rolls, and guess what his company did to make the filling for the spring roll? They used tissue ><. Companies also like to use inedible polish and glazes to make food shine. It's all an illusion. What you see is definitely NOT what you get lol.
That's why they're called fast food, lol. They don't have enough time to make everything look pretty.
